Changes occur within an organization for various reasons like staff roles, acquisition of new technology and decreasing in funding. Changes creates different new opportunities in the organization but is often resisted by the individuals within the group. Resistance to changes is occurred mostly due to lack of trust between the employees in the company (Hon, Bloom Crant, 2014). Trust plays a vital role in running an organization successfully. It is difficult for the individuals to accept changes if they are unable to trust each other. The changes made by the firm is assumed to be due to an underlying reason or job loss and hence resisted. Poor or lack of effective communication is another factor that caused resistance to change within the organization. Change within an organization is implemented by a key decision maker. Improper communication to make the people understand the facts and valid reason lead to the resistance to change. Ineffective communication is another reason that causes resistance to change (Burnes, 2015). Ego also interfere an employee ability to adapt to change. Employees act as per their own self interest rather than the welfare of the organization. Moreover change requires the individual to master new skills therefore resisted particularly while learning new technology (Vaara, Sonenshein Boje, 2016). Communicating with the individuals at proper and right time is necessary to make the desired changes. Effective engagement with the employees resistant to change is proper measures to overcome the issue (Simoes Esposito, 2014). Company intranets and emails are adequate tools to utilize. This also allows the employees to stay informed and ask questions. Improvement and innovation are crucial for making an organization successful in the era of globalization. When the employees clearly understand the need and importance for change it becomes easier to implement to change. All types of organization experiences changes in form one or another as the industries grow and require businesses to evolve. Changes are not to be made all at once but implemented in several stages. Organization should initially prepare for the change and take action; proper plan is made to manage the change and is supported by the change. Improvement and innovation are highly significant for the organizational growth.
